NO BORDER

These commercials filmed in 2005 completed the 2-year TVCF series, “NO BORDER,” which began in 2004.

In the wake of 9.11, the amid turbulent times, Nissin Foods’ “NO BORDER” campaign communicated the message that “essentially, Earth has no national borders” and the company’s philosophy, “People Can Only Be Content When There Is Enough Food.” To express the concept of this campaign, eight commercials were shot in various different locations around the world. The last 2 commercials of the campaign, “Space” and “Earth” versions, captured the beautiful sight of Earth with “no borders” from space.

For this shoot, Nissin Foods developed a special CUPNOODLE. They designed a different shape for the noodles and modified the soup and package to make it easier for the astronaut to eat the noodles in space. SPACE FILMS applied changes to a SONY HD camera and cleared the unique safety specifications of the Russian Space Agency to become the first private company to install an HD camera in the ISS.

The CUPNOODLE and HD camera modified for space accompanied the astronauts who traveled to space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the Soyuz rocket. The team on Earth gave real-time feedback from the control center, while Valeri Tokarev shot the film, and Sergei Krikalyov starred in the commercial.
